Poll - Children's Ages

Being a mother of two toddlers, I am not as "experienced" a mother as many. I would like to know what I have to look forward to - or if I am living the dream right now. So my question for more "experienced" mothers (or fathers) is this: As a parent, what is/has been your favorite age? Please see the sidebar between now and March 1 to answer or to check the results, and feel free to add any comments under this post!

Thanks, and happy voting!

Joyful Days said…
I can only comment up to 11 right now. But each age has its unique blessings. I've enjoyed everything. While the self-sufficiency they gain as they get older is wonderful I miss those sweet days of being their favorite person.

I think the best and hardest parts are yet to come for me.

Enjoy each and every moment--even the ones with tears.

Peace,

Julie
4-6. They are old enough that they don't need constant care - and diaper changing! They are beginning to explore the world and independence, but they still need hugs and hot chocolate while sitting on your lap. They are old enough to begin to get and make jokes. They are starting to understand, but are still innocent. They can still enjoy silly songs in the car, and sing along. They love to hear stories. They love to tell stories, even if they get lost along the way.

Mine are now 25, 22 and 20. I love them still, but sometimes I miss those younger years.

hmmm... I need to stop and think about this:)
As a mom with a 15, 13, 10 & 5 yr old I would say that I have found joy in all these ages. But.. if I have to pick a time that really sticks out to me as fun.. that would be between 4-6.
I really enjoy this age because your child is more than likely sleeping through the night, potty trained, and the world is so new and bright and exciting for them and they are old enough to tell you all about it and if you take the time to look at the world through their eyes.. it seems like a amazing thing!!
But.. I have to say.. each age, each child, is so different.. not one is the same as the other.. they are so individual.. just enjoy every moment of it, I really wish I would have realized that far sooner, instead it has taken till the last few years to stop worry about the future and just enjoy the moment.. I think I missed out on quite a bit of that fun, joy and wonder with my older kids.. I wish I would have just taken the time to enjoy the "right now"
Enjoy it all.. it goes so fast.. feels like I was just having my first baby and now she is 15.. in a blink of an eye, where did that time go? Enjoy it all:)

I am enjoying each of the posts so far... thank you. They are confirming what I have been thinking and hoping. It is nice to get perspective from other parents, since all I know is 0-3.

Blessings,
Kim
